Kristy | Portraits

So I'm a bad blogger!! I'm just a little bit behind... These are from October 2011! My bestie Kristy wanted some new headshots/portraits made so I took a little trip up to see her in Huntsville, Alabama because the fall time up there is so beautiful. All the mountains and trees with the beautiful colors are just heaven, especially to anyone who enjoys photography! The funny thing about being there Halloween weekend is that our little photoshoot at the park got cut short because of the zombie parade... yes zombie parade. All we could do was stand there with our jaws dropped and stare when the 'zombies' walked by, and of course there was a local news guy with a camera pointed straight at us capturing our moment of 'what the heck...' I'm hoping we didn't make the news looking like deer in headlights!

fall is in the air

Fall is my favorite time of the year - cooler weather, lots of color, and new decorating to be done!

Grocery store pumpkins always have fun color and shapes, and why not grab a few while you're there shopping anyways?

Here are some fun things I did with them around my apartment :)

last bit of summer

I guess it finally cooled off enough here that my plants can thrive again, at least until the winter (but in Alabama it's still not really really cold until late December/January!) So buh-bye hot 100 degree weather!! Hello fall! And hello to my happy once more plants!

This cute little copper kettle I found at an antique store is perfect for my roses...
AND now it's time to go buy some pumpkins!

Hummingbirds

My parents always put up hummingbird feeders and it seems like there are a dozen more of these tiny birds that come around each year. They are really fun to watch, and it's so weird how these pretty little glistening birds are just down right pesky and feisty to each other! Then I googled hummingbird (how I get all my answers...) and here is a little fun fact for you from Wikipedia : "They consume more than their own weight in nectar each day, and to do so they must visit hundreds of flowers daily. Hummingbirds are continuously hours away from starving to death, and are able to store just enough energy to survive overnight." Fun fact for the day and now I know why they are so feisty over the feeders....

I think there are about 40 of these birds flying around their yard right now over 4 feeders. The more the merrier!

Monogram Madness Shoe Shoot

My bestest and wonderful friend Lacie has a monogramming and children's clothing store that she runs and she's also got the cutest daughter ever Bella... which makes Bella is the perfect model right? So Lacie has these children's shoes that are just adorable and needed some website worthy photos of them for her site and FB page. We took Bella and let her have every girl's dream (ok she's already got every girls dream at the age of 2... she's got more shoes than I ever thought of having!!!) and let her play in all the shoes, just tons and tons of shoes! You can tell by the look on her face that Bella is gonna be a girlie girl, she loved it!
